Meet Our Doctors
J. Shahangian
Dr. J was raised in San Diego and attended Rancho Bernardo High School, where he enjoyed playing for the Broncos soccer team. He earned an honors degree in Molecular Cell Biology at UC Berkeley, then he attended UCLA for dental school. He completed 3 years of specialty training at the University of North Carolina. Currently, he is on faculty with the UCLA Department of Pediatric Dentistry & is on staff with San Diego’s Rady Children’s Hospital. Dr J founded his private practice in 2010. He chose his hometown in order to better serve our San Diego County families. He currently has a pediatric dental office in Alpine, and two offices in Scripps Ranch/Mira Mesa area.
Dr J believes he has one of the greatest jobs in the world and is blessed with a beautiful wife and three wonderful daughters. On his personal time, he enjoys soccer, the arts and staying active in the San Diego community.
Neek LaMantia
Dr. Nicole ‘Neek’ LaMantia grew up in Chicago and competed at the collegiate level as a triathlete and at the international level as an Irish dancer. She attended Marquette University and then went to UC San Francisco where she completed her DDS. Dr Neek then completed her residency in Pediatric Dentistry along with earning a master’s degree in Public Health at UCLA.
She is currently a liaison for the San Diego area for the American Academy of Pediatrics and serves on the Board of Directors for the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Neek enjoys spending time with her husband and beautiful daughter. And when she’s not practicing dentistry, she stays active by practicing yoga, running, and swimming in beautiful San Diego County.
